I have a 77 Mint 400 and would love a nice aluminum MX tank. My cell is 440 714 0881
that may be a hard find, as i don't remember ever seeing one for the MC5 or GS6 frames, i know you can't use stock tanks from 75 and down on the 76 and up
hopefully i'm wrong [8D]

Keep an eye on Ebay, I bought a NOS orange GS6 Tank from there. Also, if you want to race it, purchase a new Clark tank, they fit well and perform well also!
I have a nice OEM orange fiberglass mx tank if you are interested.
Do you have a 77 MC5 or a 77 GS6. I have tanks for both.

By the way it was only the Mint 400 in 74 and 75. MC or GS after that.

I'm virtually certain I've seen an alloy GS tank on a 78 and maybe even a 77 but the bikes were English market. I think it was unlawful under MOT regs to have a fiberglass tank.
Quick search shows at least one orange but there are more out there. I remember a blue one.
Google "1977/78 KTM 250 GS aluminum tank bike" and an orange one with knee wear to reveal the alloy will pop right up.
If I'm not mistaken the 77/78 GS is referring to GS-6 bikes not MC5, which take a completely different design tank for the tunnel back frame. Mike
