Title: motoplat timing
Post by: csteinbach on August 31, 2002, 09:31:39 PM
Hello,
Is there a way to check or adjust the timing on a motoplat ignition without fancy tools or pulling the flywheel to make small adjustments after adjustments to get it right? Carl

The motoplat is timed with a pin thru the flywheel to the stator.  The stator has to be loose enough to turn, so you must take the flywheel off to be able to loosen the screws that hole the stator.   After the timing is set, you must take the flywheel off again to tighten the screws.
