Call this the beginnings of an informational thread on the 50th anniversary coming in 2018.  In the coming days, weeks, and months we will be rolling out some detail on the discussions, ideas, and plans and look forward to your input.  Feel free to also post any projects that you are working on for the special occasion (help is available if needed for photos).

Here are a few proposals for venues to celebrate the 50th anniversary of John Penton and the Penton Sportscycle.  Please understand duplicating the same effort made for the 40th is virtually impossible for a number a reasons.  My belief is that splitting up the dates and separating some into smaller regional gatherings might make more sense.

Potomac Vintage Riders - York Swap Meet the last weekend in January
(This represents a change in venue from the Cleveland IX center International Motorcycle Show being held the same weekend)

Diamond Don's - Although i have not contacted Don on the possibility of securing a display area this would have potential to involve our Southern and some Western members.

Vintage Motorcycle Days - Size and scope of our return yet to be determined :D

Barber Motorsports Park - I have had communication with them to discuss having some participation in next years October event.

VMD is a certainty, (the other three events listed at my suggestion) are still up for discussion and implementation.  Diamond Don's and Barber might only be the club trailer, merchandise, grill, and a small display of bikes with myself included.  i'd like to have a meet and greet along with a cookout with additional local display motorcycles brought.

It is certainly tough to haul the 24' trailer West over the Rockies [V]  If there were a significant number of members and a venue that is a must (Northwest preferred) please make a recommendation.

Dale, I think that is a good idea to do several regional stops with the tour.  I think by doing so, it will allow more members to have a better chance to attend.
