Title: Sachs Ignition Crank Pin Question
Post by: KJDonovan on September 04, 2017, 03:49:31 PM
Does anyone know if the ignition side crank pin (spindle) on a 6B crank is just pressed fit into the crank lobe or silver soldered as well?  Just to be clear I'm referring to the pin/spindle the motoplat bolts to not the tapered pin for the crank bearing.

Thanks,

Kevin

They are pressed only on the -A- motor. The -B- motor is part of the crank; one unit, Al needs to know this ... suppose it could be machined to work.

Thanks Larry, that's exactly what I needed to know.  I saw then pins on Al's site listed as being for "A" or "B" cranks, but could never find the seam where the pin is inserted into the lobe, that's why I asked if they were silver soldered in.

Thanks,

Kevin
