Many, many years ago I had a KTM seat stencil to paint a logo on my steel tanker. Since then I've moved three times and have no idea where it could be. Are these still available? Was it Al Buehner that sold them in early 2000s?
Thanks,
Clay
I believe I received one from Randy Kirkbride, but I believe he sold off all of his decals and may have sold those stencils at that time. Mike

Hi Mike,
Oh, that's right, it was Randy. Thanks for remembering that. I may try to make one myself. Hope all is well with you.

Randy offered both a KTM and KTM Penton stencils. I'm thinking he sent me and still have a plain KTM if you need it for a template.

Hi Dale,
That would be great if you could send it to me. I had the "KTM Penton" stencil somewhere, but who knows where it is now. A plain "KTM" would be fantastic since that's what's on the back of the old cover anyway. Greatly appreciated!
Clay
I have a few KTM seat stencils remaining that Randy Kirkbride had sent me from the last of his sticker stash. The KTM version has the small Penton under a larger KTM logo. The other version has the Penton logo on top with a smaller KTM underneath. Clay I can email you a photo of what I have if that helps, let me know. Sorry I haven't figured out how to post pictures from my Mac on the POG web site. - Cal
I would be interested in one of those stencils if you have extra's. Penton on top would be preferred. William
Hi Cal,
That sounds great if you have a spare to sell. I'd love to have either one. Please reply to this posting with your address if you can and let me know how much to send you. LG is sending me a seat cover here shortly any day:),
Thanks,
Clay
I have what you requested, Just sent emails through the POG to William and Clay.
I have never tryed using the seat stencils. How do they work? I'm in need of 10 or so. I need a big Penton over KTM and Penton only for another project. Dave
apply four light coats, I use fabric and vinyl paint, if you coat it too heavy the paint will become one with the stencil and will all come off together when removing stencil
Seat Stencils can be reused if your careful and doing more than one seat at a time. I only have a couple of stencils left so I can only provide one per request. Need to have some more made up. For the CMF bikes, the original seats had Penton stenciled in silver. Randy Kirkbride pointed this out to me a while ago and sure enough I checked an original six-day seat and it was done in Silver. I've used silver alumni-blast paint that's used on engine cases and it works great. Do several very light coats with a little drying time between coats to avoid bleeds and drips. You can also use regular white spray paint if you like that look better.
Hi Cal,
How can I contact you? This site has my old email address as a way to contact me, so I'm not getting emails and I want to get a seat stencil from you before they are gone.
Thanks much,
Clay
Hey Carl, do you have any more with the Penton on top? Thanks, James jameslubniewski@hotmail

Got mine today Cal! Sweet , just what I needed to finish that seat. Do you have suggestion for paint type and producer. Thanks William
William, see my comments above on paint for stencils. The original CMF bikes used a silver paint on the seat logo. Alum-blast works great for silver. I believe the bikes 1974 and later were white. If you prefer a white logo a white semi-gloss spray works good. Be sure to do several light coats to avoid bleeds and drips. Give it a few minutes of dry time between coats.
Thanks for the info and will follow your advice. William
Hi Cal,
Not sure if you have received my emails or not? I am not getting emails through POG site since that's an old email address. Still need the stencil. Can you post your mailing address?
Clay
Sorry Clay, I didn't receive your email, here's my email address again.
[email protected] Its hard to read the address when I post it as the web site adds a full underline under the address. There is a _ (underscore) between my first and last name on my email address. If that fails try sending an email through the POG web site, I usually get those. I have saved a seat stencil for you. I believe you needed the KTM with the small Penton underneath. I am now completely out of other type but still have a couple of the KTM style. - Cal
