Post by: Eric on September 10, 2002, 11:06:55 PM
I would like to find late 70's KTM 400's for sale for Evolution racing in Florida.  If anyone can help please send me an E mail with info and price.  I would prefer race ready but will consider any.  Thanks in advance.  [email protected]

If you are going to ride the Historic class get a 76 or 77 400. If you are going to ride the Gran Prix class you need a 79-81 420 or 495 to be competitive. The 78 is in nomans land. Cant ride it in Historic and is not really as competive as the others in the GP class. Too bad, the 78's are really sharp. I bring mine along to the races just to show it off!

I ride Hare Scrambles in the Florida Trail Riders series where the only requirements are air cooled and drum brakes in our super vintage class.  I've been racing vintage but am ready for a few extra inches travel.  The 495's are awesome bikes but parts are rare. Please forward any advice or bikes for sale as I would like to stick with Penton/KTM.
