Howdy, first time in here.
I'm the proud owner of a 1974 175 Jack Piner
It's about a 90% bike and I'm hoping to get it back in running condition.
I also have a frame and engine for what I thought was a 73 250 Hare Scrambler
I used the frame # guide provided in this forum and it's indicating the frame was for a 125.
Can anyone confirm this using the frame # I provided?

Not a 125 frame.
Welcome to the POG forum.
The frame number indicates that it was built in November of 1973.
So, that frame is for the 1973 250 engine.

Thanks for the welcome and quick response.
I guess I was mis-reading the frame # explanation. It's a tad confusing. I live in NH and I'm going to title the frame before I sell it. So it was important to know the model it belongs to.
Another question.
Is the magneto the same for the 74 175 Jack Piner and 73 Hare Scramble 250? I was going to keep it as a spare, as well as other items from the 250 engine. I'm use to being able to cross reference vintage Japanese models but haven't found a resource for the cross referencing of Penton parts.

Not a 125 frame.
Thanks, I didn't think so.
A frame with that November marking is a 1974 model because it is after August therefore the next year. 54 is a 250 designation.

thanks.
So, I've now read it's a 73 and 74. ????
The engine serial # is 3-5401944
Doesn't the 3 designate it as a 73? The arrow on the cases is pointing at the 10 which I believe means Oct.
As with Japanese models anything built after the 6 month pushes it's year model into the nxt. year. Is this the case here?
3-designates that it was built in 73, but it is a 74 model. Mike
