Title: Measurement for mounting rear fender...
Post by: mxfiles on February 12, 2018, 01:43:42 PM
Hi All!

I am determined to get my 1969 steel tanker done and need to mount new fenders. How much of rear fender needs to hang past the seat? Is there a proper measurement from the frame or mounting holes on frame to rear edge of fender? How far down should the bottom of fender go in case it needs to be trimmed?

Thanks for the all help!

Hi,
The rear fender on our 1970 six day Penton extends back 9" from the two mounting tabs on the rear frame loop and forward under the seat to 1 1/2" above the swing arm with a small relief cut for the chain guard. The front fender extends forward 9" from the front fender mounting loop and extends backwards from the back front fender mount to the top of the skid plate. Hope this is helpful!
