Title: 400 HEAD MOD PICTURES
Post by: Larry Perkins on March 06, 2018, 12:08:49 PM
I searched for a thread about the 400 head mod that had pictures and am not finding it.  Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks Jerry!  Do you think a machine shop can duplicate from picture?  Is there, do you think, any measurements they will need.  Don't guess you want to sell your head?

The ideal thing would be to obtain a previously done head and take dimensions as best as one can. I dimension across the combustion chamber at the head surface plus a check of the radius with a radius gauge is pretty easy to do. I'm curious as to how they hold the head in a check! Wouldn't mind seeing photos either.
  Type at you later,

It is held though the sparkplug hole. I can probably get it done, but don't have a head that has been modified. Anybody  have one they would sell or let me use to get measurement from?

I asked Jerry Birky , he said he's buying a lathe, then he can do it again.
