Title: Bike info
Post by: JackD on March 18, 2018, 12:01:50 AM
Tried using the lists on the other page, not sure if I'm right. Can someone decipher this frame number for me?  409 76810. I know it's a 1974. Not sure about the rest. Thanks.

409 means the bike was built in September of 1974 making it actually in most cases a 1975. That is all that can be determined from the frame number. Mike

Then it's a 100cc Sachs motor, 6 speed. But you can't be 100% sure about that. If you read that number from the ignition side cover it depends in which conditions the bike is, if it's like brand new or restored could be a 100cc, if not, the side cover could have been replaced during the years (personal experience). Could be 100cc or 125cc. If it's a proper '74-'75 100cc i guess it's quite rare expecially for European standards. I don't know how many were made.
