Title: Removing clutch hub - Sachs 125cc motor
Post by: Motobros-Dave on April 06, 2018, 11:39:12 AM
Hello to all . . . . wondering if anyone out there has motor experience with a Sachs 125cc engine?  We have a '73 Penton Six Day and want to get inside the engine cases to evaluate condition of the transmission.  We have run into a very stubborn 25mm nut on the clutch hub that will not come free.  I am pretty sure it is a left hand thread nut, have tried both directions to no avail.

So, wondering if anyone can confirm if it is a left hand nut ?  And maybe someone has a good suggestion to bust the nut free other than a air impact wrench ??  You can email me directly at:

Thanks for your help !!  - Dave

Dave,

Regular "lefty loosey, righty tighty" :D not left hand threads for that nut.

Thanks,

Kevin

Those transmissions are pretty bulletproof.  If it has shifting troubles it is shift key and or adjustment 99 percent of the time.

Hi Kevin,  just wanted to let you know that we got the nut off the clutch hub today . . .  put a bit of heat to the nut and squeezed a few extra PSI out of our compressor and the nut broke loose with the air gun.  Thanks again for your input on the nut . . . indeed Left Was Loosey !!!  Bye for now,
