Greetings,
Those of you who attended the Penton 50th. Anniversary Celebration and participated in the election of John Penton as POG President know what a memorable and exciting time it was.
At Thursday's POG meeting President Penton took to his new position like a Penton Sportcycle to a tight woods trail. I wasn't at the previous meeting where John only opened and closed the meeting, but at Thursday's meeting he took control from the pounding of the opening gavel and worked his way thru the evenings agenda and again pounded the gavel to close the meeting.
John seemed to really enjoy performing his duties, he even seemed to take a bit of pleasure from pounding the gavel to get a couple of gentlemen to cease their conversation and pay attention to the business at hand....
It surely was a night to remember.....:D
Paul
PS If you needed another reason to attend a POG meeting or the gigantic Mid-Ohio POG extravaganza, seeing President John in action should do the trick....but be forewarned that he runs a tight ship !
John sure surprised me when he chose the chair (front and center) in the middle of the table and not is usual seat on the side of the room. I was expecting him to just hit the gavel to open and close the meeting, but he took charge and ran it like the pro that he is.
It is looking like we may have to extend his one year contract.[:0]
