Title: Fuel tank mounting pads
Post by: Dennis D on September 20, 2002, 11:16:10 PM
Do the felt pads that go under the tank on a 72 Piner wrap around the frame tube or lay lenghtwise on the top tube? Mine were missing and there is no evidence on the tank tunnel as to how they go. Thanks, Dennis

Dennis, The (2) felt pads are adhered to the tank, the back one is at the rear of the tank about 1/2" in from the end, it lays on the horizonal frame tubes just in front of the loop for the tank strap. The front pad is about 1" in from the front, running parallel with the front edge of the tank. So it wraps around the frame tube. Even though the parts manual shows it lengthwise, I have never found one that way. Rob
