Title: right side number panel fitment.
Post by: JamesHorwatt on September 08, 2018, 03:12:31 PM
Again I'm assembling my 1975 175 Penton Cross Country and I'm stumped as to how the right side panel mounts. I have the bolts on the side figured out, but am having a difficult time figuring out just how the top of the panel mounts or bolts to the frame just above the expansion chamber. There is a tab welded to the frame , but no threaded or through hole, so I'm guessing there is a special clip that mounts there...Any guidance is very welcome.

Thanks Jim Horwatt

Thanks Jim

It came with a machine screw.  I have used machine screws and bolts.  Depends on what you want to use.

Use a speed-fastener to slide over the tab with a self tapping screw.

James,
I use a plastic push type fastener that is a typical for auto interiors.
just line up holes and push in it has a smooth rounded head, never comes loose and if you need to you can paint to match panel?
