Glass ((pearls) blasting gives the best result.
Then clean the cylinder head in ultrasonic with a mild soap solution.
It will look like a new one :)

Can someone let me know if the "hyperlink" works?

I can't post direct photos via 'insert image" and the reference link at "google photos"[?][?]

Perfect timing, I was just going to ask the same questions. Thanks for the info.

Was the head and cylinder originally painted from the factory? Also when I opened up my cases I noticed some type of epoxy was applied in the corners and around castings , anybody know if this was a factory thing as well?

Merry Christmas to all the POG members!!

As far as I know, there is no coating on the cylinder and head.

Epoxy is very normal, fills possible porosity in the castings. You can also try vapor blasting, leaves a nice original looking finish if done right, and is smudge proof. To artificially age after blasting, the parts can be run in a dishwasher with hot water for a couple hours, really works, I was amazed.
