I hope some of you can join us at a few of these ,way more fun than cross country. I'm not a fan of bunched up traffic in a race, your out on your own most of the time on these . Plus not all rutted up as you rarely cover the same trail twice . I wish i could post pictures of the trophies ,they are a picture of your bike in one of the enduros really nicely done

Derek, I only did one event last year (Roselawn) and the rules were regular enduro timekeeping. There were only 6 vintage bikes at the first one, so all were in the same class. Alex says numbers grew as the season went on, so there will probably be at least a vintage and post vintage class this year, but I'm just guessing. I have six of those events on my schedule for 2019.
Mick
Sure , only one class at this time just vintage bikes must have two of these three thing air cooled ,drum brake, and or twin shocks. As the class grows we will be adding age groups and a post vintage class

In general: How many miles total? How many dirt miles? Is there a gas truck or does it loop around? Sound requirement? Street legal required?
This looks great - sorry for all the questions.
most of the clubs put in right around 40 /50 miles ,gas truck at some ,a lot have you come back to the staging area to start the second loop so gas at the pits all single track very little roads not required to be street legal . A few in Michigan do require Michigan trail permits. Have to have a spark arrestor but only the jack pine does a sound check. All of my bikes have passed with ease, even my rokon and I think it is pretty loud

would any of the clubs want to have a ahrma reunion ride at same event?
dennis l.brown
I would be willing to help and put you in touch with the clubs, one of the reasons we started this series was a group of us just started running ahrma and they dropped the isdts only one last year

Looking at these dates all are run on Saturdays. Sat is my busiest work day at the motorcycle dealership. Too bad these can't be combined with the regular Sunday enduros they precede. My Elsinore and Puch feel left out.
For those in the know;
Any new news on the vintage / post vintage class structure for this year?
Is pre-enter possible?
AMA and D14 membership required?
no memberships are required of any type, still just one class at this time ,a drum brake, air cooled ,and twin shocks . must have at least two of these things .We are hoping to change to vintage and post vintage and age groups as we grow ,youngest regular racer last year was in his late 40's

Thanks for the update.
Looks to be a great way for us central and upper Midwesterners to get our vintage/post-vintage fix on.
1st event at Roselawn, Indiana is only 3 weeks away
Mick
The race came and went without a hitch, great weather and course layout by Jeff Fredette! Mike Miller from Grand Rapids won the vintage event on a PE250 with 19 dropped points, I dropped 32 for 2nd, and Derek Martin took 3rd.
The harescrambler ran OK, but i'm convinced i need a bigger carb and am building a 36mm Mikuni for it. The biggest challenge will be the airbox-to-inlet connection. It ran great on the top end, but pinged on the bottom from being too lean and would blubber a bit in the mid range.
Next event is in Northwest Michigan at Kingsley.
Mick
Yup, what Mick said. Fun event all around. Had me some bike problems but had a good time none the less.
Most of these events have road sections ,but Roselawn area requires the bike to be plated so to keep it open to all they do a closed course there. Still one of the most fun ones of the series Can't wait till the next one

I rode the family enduro at Kinsley on Saturday and had a great time. Two loops about 20miles each all on private land virgin trail. Some vintage bikes like pe250 it175 episode no pentons. My bad, I rode ktm 200, 6th place, nice little trophy in 60+.We raised 5600$ for a local charity:). 20$ sign up, no sound test, no sticker needed on this one.I rode Lawton last year and had fun too.

Planning on doing more of these this coming year. Large fun.
I've got to do a new piston in the IT - ran too hot plug in the one event I did and purt near killed it and didn't bring any colder plugs. That is what I get for not doing hard test riding on a new bike build.
Any one know if enduro computers are legal for this class? I think I saw one in use. If they are I might install myself.
Please post the schedule when you can - this sounds great!!

you can not program a computer ,odo and clock only. I and a few others use ico's but only for the clock and odo. they do check to see if they are programmed.

How did you fix the wheel speed sensor to the fork slider and the magnet to your drum brake hub?
epoxied the magnet in one of the recesses for the spokes on the hub and used the ico bracket that they have for the sensor wire . Hose clamp the bracket to the fork leg, or I used the pinch bolts for the axle 76 model with the leading axle forks

Thanks for posting the 2020 schedule...what is a sprint enduro??
EZ
2020 Sprint Enduro Rules
All Sprint Enduro events will feature at least two special tests with racers making multiple attempts on each test and the total, cumulative time being used for race results.
I.e., the fastest rider wins.
There will be no "drops" of special test times, all test scores count.
