I replaced the shifting drum in my 250, it now it doesn't change gears. What did I do wrong?????

when you say it doesn't change gears, more info is needed. is the motor back in the bike? is the clutch cover off? does the trans move at all? i suspect though that the shifting drum detent lever got caught under the drum upon putting the cases back together. feel frre to email me at

Thanks for the input CJ. Turns out the new drum had too many shims (6) on the end, so, when I tightened the cases, it was pinching the drum so it wouldn't turn. I removed five of the shims, and it shifts fine...
