Title: BING 84 ATOMIZER
Post by: Larry Perkins on February 02, 2019, 09:03:40 PM
What needs to be done to remove the atomizer from a Bing 84 carb?  It appears to be pressed in.  Thanks for any help!

Push it out from the top.

How much force should it take?

It doesn't take much to push or gently tap them out. Just make sure that the main jet holder is removed.

Also note the position of the atomizer (vaporizer). Most are cut-away shaped (half moon shaped when looking at it from the top of the carb). When reinstalling make sure the shield part is facing towards the air box. If it is facing the wrong way, the bike will start up and idle, but as soon as you open up the throttle to take off, the engine will die.

The shield forces the incoming air up which draws the fuel UP and into the engine intake.
If the shield if facing the wrong way, the incoming air will force the fuel DOWN into the carb.

Thanks Al.  Going to bore one out and did not want to screw something up.
