Doug Wilford had a very special early Penton brochure that had belonged to his dad, Wally Wilford. What made that brochure so very special was that Wally had written on it the date that the first 10 serial production Pentons arrived in the United States, March 7th, 1968.
The brochure didn't exist at that time, it came along a little later, but Wally wanted to write that date down while he remembered it and we should be glad he did. Wally played a part in getting those machines to Amherst from the airport as he was sent by John to pick them up.
How incredably approproiate it is that we have a Penton Owners Group meeting tonight that will be presided over by the man himself, John Penton. Possibly a little bit of a celabration just may occur :)
