Title: front tire size
Post by: imported_n/a on July 24, 2019, 10:42:02 AM
Getting ready to purchase a rim & tire for '73 Jackpiner (32mm forks) and planning on a WM1 1.60 rim this time.  A while back I had a 3.00 x 21 tire with WM2 1.85 front on my '74 Six Day w/35mm forks and even with 35's the rim and tire looked/felt too wide/heavy for that 125 model.  Question: what is a suitable tire size for the 1.60 front rim considering 32mm forks on a '73 Jackpiner?!

Thx, Chris

I would go to my Penton owners manual and used what was engineered for that model. Just my take. William

I put a Pirelli MT16 80/21 on a WM1 front.  The rear a 110/18 on a WM2  just a little too wide for the chain guide.
