Title: Penton Woodsman

Has anyone heard of this model.  I was wondering if it was a trials bike but it doesn't have trials tires on it.  It does have a small teardrop tank.

Keith,

The original Wassel trials bike built for Penton was called the Mudlark and to say the least it was not the best of sellers.  There was a time to get Pentons you had to take one of them.  There were many methods tried to sell these bikes one of which was to put on knobbies and a high fender along with the orange blaze on the tank.  This was called the Woodsman.  That is my spin on it.

Penton even put on a headlight, tail light, and called one model "cafe moto cross"  a first real dual sport bike!

Thanks, that makes sense.  This guy was a former dealer in Iowa.  He won't sell it, but was a small dealer, this was probably his one he had to buy.

I have saw some Woodsman's that were also fitted with a 125 Husky exhaust to make them look more like a (traditional dirt bike)
