Title: 1968 Penton Owners - question
Post by: rob w on March 26, 2020, 09:58:08 AM
All you folks that have, or are familiar with the early 1968 Penton.
Hoping you can help, please.
Have you ever seen this switch before, it was on the '68 I'm working on. Brand is HELLA.
Appears to be attached to a Penton wire harness. Appropriate colored wires.
With the length of the wire, and location of split. Would guess it's a on/off switch for lights.
To mount it, looks like you'd have to have a threaded hole in the bars.
Thank you for any information.

Just a guess...  Would it go into the top of a Hella headlight?

Bob the one I had  that was NOS was mounted on top of  the headlight.  I may have an old picture?  Will have  to  check my old computer.

What threw me off, is the radius cut in the bottom side of switch fits handlebars radius.

Still if someone has a switch like this on a '68, I would love to hear about it. Thanks

I went back and looked at pictures of the bike when I first got it. The switch was loose, and dangling, with no evidence of it ever mounted to the headlight shell.
