Title: Airbox repair
Post by: Mick Milakovic on October 16, 2002, 08:51:22 AM
I have a '73 Jackpiner in need of an airbox repair.  One of the backing nuts that are imbedded into the box holding on the cover has been lost.  I know I'll have to lay in new fiberglass around the nut, but is it a special nut?  Maybe with some kind of spines to hold the fiberglass better?

Weld a 6mm nut to a washer with holes around the outside of the nut then fiberglass in place MAX.

Thanks, Max.  That sounds like a workable solution.  Mick

Mick I just did the same repair ...only i went to Home Depot and bought a 1/4 in auto fastner ... the kind that clips over sheet metal.. broke off the top piece and it fit in perfectly ... then fiberglassed it in....Brian T
