Looking for a high quality 21" front tire to run in roots, mud, etc. Any suggestions?

Pirelli MT21 is my choice.

I've always been very partial to Metzeler tires and would consider their 360 mid-soft front (and rear) tire(s). I like the side pattern on the front.

Michelin Starcross 5 mid-soft, awesome tire.

Mike and Rocket, I have used both; had issues with both on wet, bare roots. Thanks for your input.

My favorite tire was the Michelin S12XC which was discontinued I believe. Hopefully someone here knows what Michelin tire was intended as a replacement for the S12XC and if it compares favorably.
Vee-Rubber GNCC Sticky, the only way to go...
Yes Gary, that's what I was leaning to... on the rear too?
