How do you remove the atomizer from a Bing carb? It appears that it gets pushed up through from the float area toward the piston area. Is this correct?

The atomizer is installed from the bottom side. The main jet holder keeps it (and the needle jet) in place. To remove it unscrew the jet holder from the main body. The needle jet should drop out. With the older iron atomizer you may need to give it a light tap to get it to drop out. With the later brass atomizers you will need to carefully drive it out with a punch. If you don't absolutely have to remove the brass type I wouldn't.
