Title: Clearances for Wiseco Pistons, 125 Sachs
Post by: desmond197 on October 28, 2002, 06:01:47 PM
I have a early 70's Sachs motor I am installing in my 72 Penton 125. It has a Wiseco piston installed in it and it looks like it is in good shape with the standard bore. What are the recomended piston clearances and ring end gap for these pistons. The rest of the motor is in excellent shape and looks like it was sidelined due to motoplat problems.

I would say .0035 for a Wiseco, as tight as .002 for a Sachs piston.

These are the instructions that came with Hodaka Wiseco pistons I bought. Forged ? I assume so. Yes do post them on the Penton/Yahoo group.

Thanks guys for the help. Every thing looks good on this motor so far. This could be the cheapest rebuild I have done as most of the sachs motors I have worked on have been toast.
