I may have an extra blue one. How picky are you about appearance?

Some Penton history, to Ron's point, the earliest MX tank that I've seen was on a Six Day made in March of 1973. This bike also had a high breather frame. Seems that KTM made the switch to high breather frame, plastic fenders, updated kickstand, and offered the MX tank option all within a couple of months starting around March of 1973.

I agree with Cal as March 1973 sounds about right.  I had a New 100 then and it had the high breather/plastic fender/MX tank.
I had the 8th 250 Penton brought into the USA and it has a MX tank.

Has anyone ever found out how many 1973 250s were made? as I understand it they were only made for 3 months. I would like to know for sure. Thanks for any input on this subject!:)

I have a yellow (gold) MX tank and airbox.  The tank is sun faded and has it's share of nicks and scratches.  I have tried wet sanding a couple areas with some success in restoring the original finish and color.  The air box looks like it was painted with a brush as is fairly typical.  Photos available on request.

$125 on the tank (no cap or petcocks), $175 for both plus shipping.
