Title: Sachs Trans fluid
Post by: Richard Colahan on March 29, 2021, 01:13:53 PM
Doing service work on a 1974 125 SD, Sachs engine.
I drained the trans fluid via the drain plug, and the drain "screw" in the clutch cover.
Bike was on lift, level for days, then leaned over to the left for days.
Not a drop more to drain...I assume...

The manual calls for 900c.
At about 600c the fluid began to drain through the "level" plug on the clutch cover. Bike was clamped by front wheel at the time and dead level and on it's wheels when adding oil...tie downs pulled no more then an inch or so...

Thoughts? Suggestions?

You want to use 700cc's of oil, disregard the oil plug in the side case.
Always best to pull the LH side case, to drain oil.
