Title: 72 Jackpiner engine covers
Post by: juliusalexander on April 09, 2021, 11:57:23 AM
Just finished rebuilding the 175 motor. What is the correct finish for the KTM logos on the outer case covers. Bare magnesium, white, other finish?

Thanks

For 1972 KTM, see Homepage photo.

Thanks Rob. In the photo the KTM looks silver. If that is correct do you know if it was paint or raw magnesium?

I wouldn't leave magnesium bare. Moisture is not kind to it.

My Jackpiner was built in November of 1972. The motor has the original paint. The color is black. [8D]

Oops sorry misread at first. I think the KTM letters were painted silver .[B)]

My memory is they were unpainted.
