Trying to back project back on track. I have a 72, 175 JP that has a cracked case. I bought a fine set of replacement cases from Keith M. several years ago. Any +/- cost and source (I'm in RI) to get internals swapped over? Matching # magnesium was brazed up and engine ran pretty darn good before storing the bike. I am sure internally anything found worn/NG would be additional expense. Although mechanically inclined, I realize a rebuild requires seasoned KTM experience and many specialty tools. Thanks for any and all advice.

Rich, in your dis-assembly adventure, was there a major discovery in the gearbox, related to the shift drum/forks male-female actuation? Why do I ask? I did have an early JP where the drum had male protrusions that mated with female forks, perhaps the "not so hot" version. In any event, your quest does not go without merit! On my wall, in my man cave, O'Dell #58 JP.......

Have not cracked open the cases, my thought being once I did that I would have a box of parts and it would be less running history for the actual rebuilder. [^]
