Title: mc 5 vs GS
Post by: skiracer on June 04, 2021, 12:21:48 PM
Can anyone tell me the differences between a 76 MC 5 and a 77 GS 250? I know the the GS has a high breather frame, but, what else is different, or the same?

As far as the motors go, 1st gear is locked out on MC5 but not on the GS6.

The seats are different - different bases, the exhaust pipes are different, Gas tanks are different - wide tunnel under 77 250. Frame loop is different. Carbs could be different. Headlight is different. Wiring is different for tail light.

Thanks for the info guys!  I guess I asked the wrong question. What I really want to know is if a center stand from a GS will fit a MC frame. Looking at photos, the swing arms look the same, so I'm thinking the lower portion of the frames are the same.... thoughts?

Probably have to fabricate tabs for the frame and modify the center stand too!

Thanks Ray!  If that is the case, I might as well build one from scratch....  I was hoping it was a bolt on deal.

No but I can email one to you. It's too big a pain in the butt to post here.
