There is a decent '76 125 on Ebay and its cheap-at least for the time being. Maybe buy and switch top end to get your 175? Sometimes the path is not straightforward .Good luck. Rick

Motor is locked up on the eBay bike.  Lots of unknowns with that and an old magnesium motor.

So a 175 top end will fit in a 125 bottom end?

As long as the generations match.  New style happened in late 75 for 125 but new style 175 not till 1977.

Skiracer a 175 top end will not fit a 125 lower end. You have to do alot of machine work to get it to fit.

Gary Ellis is correct. Although the location of the cylinder studs are the same for the 125 and 175, there is a tremendous amount of grinding that would need to be done to the crank area of the center cases to match the ports of the 175 cylinder. [xx(]

With a porting tool it is not that difficult in my opinion.
