Title: Sachs Clutch Question
Post by: holeshothawk3 on October 03, 2021, 01:41:49 PM
I'm getting my '72 Six Day ready to go to Barber and just trying to figure out the clutch. It has been working fine but got abused a little the last race out and I lost the pull at the lever. I adjusted the cable at the lever and got the full clutch pull back but it's still dragging horribly. What needs to be adjusted or is it time for new plates?

You might have a look at the clutch basket. The clutch plates can wear the edges of the basket and cause a dragging clutch.

If you end up needing clutchplates I have new ones.

There are two ways to adjust the clutch.  One is at the handlebar the other is through the clutch cover hole.  By your description it sounds like you need to go through the cover.  Do you have a manual for the procedure?
