Title: Seat Base & Chain Guide
Post by: Jdbglover on November 04, 2002, 01:06:46 PM
I have found what I think is a 1978-9 metal seat base off an enduro model KTM, also the bike has the long alloy rear brake stay with the a chain guide.

Question will the above items work on 1975 high breather frame?

For what it is worth, I do not believe that any seat bases on the 1978-79 KTM's had metal seat bases.  At least my 79 is not metal.

That is correct.  They went from fiberglass to plastic and only European steel tank KTM with Sachs motor had metal seatpan.

This probably will not help you but I have a 74 and 75 with aluminum seat bases. Is yours aluminum or steel?

There were factory seats in aluminum but not in production.  There were some around but not alot.  I forgot about those and I just sold one on ebay and am recovering another to sell.

My '77 KTM GS125 (Sachs engine & hi-breather frame) has aluminium base plate, and '78 125 GS6 has fiberglass base
