Heading out tomorrow morning to northern GA for another XC race. I did the opening race last month on my MC-5 175 finished 3rd. This week I am taking my 82 PE 175. It is going to be cold (45) for the high during the day. No rain in the forcast, so, should be a good day of riding.
So it was an ugly day. Hard course lots of elevation changes with lots of roots. I was not riding at my best. Just felt out of sync all day. However I out lasted the rest in my class and ended up with a win. I'll take it!
Good job!
So I haven't updated this post in awhile. I did a couple more races in GA with next results including a DNF with my 250. The original Motoplat died and I couldn't get the bike started. I installed a new HPI that I got from Gary Ellis; love it! Went to the first Sprint Enduro race and wish I hadn't. It was super rutted and I just couldn't ride through them. I screwed up 80% of the corners in the cross test. This weekend I am going to the Fl GNCC with the 250. The race is two hours long, I'm looking to do 1.5 hours.

My first photo here. After the GNCC race last weekend
rutrow.... how did I get two photos here? sorry about that....
So I went up to Rome GA for a regional XC with the SORCS series this past weekend on my 83 PE 175. Conditions were perfect! I had a mid pack start, but moved up quickly using some sweet lines I found on the pre-race walk. I had a good pace going (nobody passing me) when I came upon a down rider who wasn't moving. I stopped to check on him, and for a minute I thought he was gone..... He came around and said he couldn't breath. Meanwhile at least 50 bikes went past up without anyone inquiring about the guy. I finally had to stand in the course to get someone to stop, to have them relay how hurt this guy was to one of the course watchers. I stayed with the guy until help arrived. I think he is going to be okay (?) That was pretty much the end of my race for the day. The bike was running well, and I was having fun up to that point. Oh well, next time......
Good job. Riders need to look out for one another.
So I went up to the last race of the SORCS series this past Sunday. Greta course, 10 miles long, damp soil. Had fun, my 175 ran as it should. Finished 2nd.
