I'm looking for a Lectron carb for a 1977 GS6 175. If anyone has one, please let me know. I would also appreciate any info on the proper size and settings.

John, I responded to the post you have in the General Info. You want a 34 or a 36mm carb. Spend the money on a new one and save yourself from the headaches of dealing with a half or fully wornout old one that you got for a "deal." You won't regret it. It will be money well spent. I'm running a 34mm on my 76 175 XC motor.
Hey John, did you get your new Lectron on your bike yet? Just wondering how you like it.
We've hit a couple of snags with the bike. Had to get some parts from Al. I was waiting to see how things worked out before investing the money in the carb. After a few issues were fixed, looks like the engine has some life left in it. I'm going to order the carb this week. My hope is to have the bike ready to ride at Hayes Farm in early October. By then, hopefully, the renewed bike and my renewed knees will be up to doing a few laps.

So I have a '77 GS6 400 with an original Lectron on it. I don't what bore size it is.
About to start a restore-can't these original Lectrons be rebuilt?

Soemtimes you can rebuild the older units, sometimes you can't. You will at least need to replace the float bowl, and all the vent tubes, maybe the metering rod, maybe more. The problem is finding the correct metering rod and internal parts for the older units. I know Al has many of the parts so check with him. As far as the size of the carb, look on neck of the carb where the slide sits. There you will find a number within a circle; that is what size your carb is. My experience is you are better off investing in a new one with updated metering rod, new slider, etc. More expensive than say a Mikuni? Yes, but the performace is well worth the additional price. Plus, the factory can custom make the carb body to fit your existing inlet and outlet boots sizes.

Well, it does look like some parts are scarce. I'll take it apart and see what it looks like.
