Title: Wanted-Speedometer cable for 1974 Six Day 125
Post by: Rob Thatcher on January 10, 2024, 10:58:51 AM
Hi,
I need a speedometer cable for the 1974 Penton Six Day I'm restoring.  Al B doesn't have any, so any source would be extremely helpful.

Motion Pro? I know you can get them for other vintage bikes.

They don't have them, they would make a custom cable, but there have to some used or NOS out there. It would be hard to order a custom cable without one to use for measurements

You might try Ebay search for VDO cable/drive cable, or Kip Kern might have a source...Adios!!!

There are some cables on eBay, but none for the Sachs motor drive unit.  Dave Callison has some already loaded in the trailer for York and I should be getting one from him after the swap meet.
