Title: Race or not to race?
Post by: Admangia on August 02, 2025, 05:03:41 PM
Well, my 1973 ISDT is all original complete with Magura leather lever covers and other stock niceties and wondering if this should go down the track? I would love to go just once. I know I have me tinned this before but now that it is out again this summer the question has presented itself again. Thoughts, anyone

If it is original and nearly perfect I would be hesitant about racing it, but if it has some signs of wear I would race it and have fun with it. You can always find some used parts to put on it temporarily if you don't want to damage the original tank, exhaust, etc...

Race it, it has wear already.

Thank you brother. After going to vintage MX race today and meeting nothing but very nice folks throughout the event I am definitely gonna give it a race or two next season. The POG folks were exceptionally helpful with my litany of questions and patient with my enthusiasm about being the owner of this very special Penton gifted to me by a dear friend that has since passed. Thank you again for all that response and encouragement.
