Title: Mystery nub
Post by: Dennis Swift on August 13, 2025, 03:23:07 PM
Just rescued a 1972 Six Day 125 after over 30 years in and outside of a Texas barn. Removed the cross bar padding and puzzled at what this vinyl held in place with stainless wire is. Any ideas?  The scoot seemed well prepped; silicone fending off all possible points of entry, etc.

Hi, Just a guess but that bike may have had a crossbar speedometer mount on at some point like the one pictured.

That makes sense. And a little relief thinking it was a hidden marker to show proof of ownership if bike was stolen.
