Title: Looking for a special 77-78 KTM 400
Post by: MotoView on November 25, 2002, 11:26:04 PM
Ok,  I'm pretty sure the bike is a 77 model, but it did have KTM branding.

The whole story begins in Sacramento, CA.  In 1985 my father bought this bike( said to be the personal bike of enduro Champ Jack Penton) from a private party.  I remember it had a supertrapp type exhaust, and a 6 speed tranny.  It was unique, and had yellow Simons forks, and blue Bilistien Shocks.  I remember it was all white ( my father re-covered the seat in blue vinyl) and had spare orange fiberglass body pieces including a spare fuel tank.  He sold it a few years after that, and I've recently wanted to attempt to track the bike down, and purchase it for a suprise as a restoration project.   I know this is a longshot, but I'm going to try.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff Bailey
