Title: Fourteen years ago today, Dane Penton Leimbach passed away.

Dane Penton Leimbach passed away 14 years ago today, November 16th, 2011. Enough pages could be written about Dane to easily fill a book.

Dane is often referred to as " Mr. 100", as he rode a 100cc Penton for many years and was top Team USA rider at the 1971 ISDT on a 100cc Penton, a truly remarkable feat!

Dane's mechanical abilities were on par with his riding abilities, which were both overshadowed by his friendliness and kindness. Dane left us way too early, but the legend of Dane Penton Leimbach most certainly lives on.

May you Rest in Peace.

Wow, so hard to believe.  I learned so much from Dane about Pentons, Sachs engines,  and their inner workings. I still have some of the homemade tools he and uncle Ted used in their shop back in the day. Dane didn't forget anything and had the uncanny ability to not only ride the bikes but wrench on them very well. Dane was a great teacher and friend and I can't thank him enough for the knowledge he passed on to me. Every time I see a Leatherman, I think of him!
