I am rebuilding my #5a engine (Sachs) for trials in my Wassell. Do I use the wide rod or the narrow oval type one for best results.

The narrow oval is the best. Is the wide rod. aluminum? If not it is an after market rod, which is also okay if it was assembled correctly.
