Dustin;
Lots of other bikes used motoplat ignitions.  Husky, Can-Am, etc.  How do you know that only the stator is bad?   Not all stators match flywheels, not all flywheels have good magnetizm.

doug;
      the mounting screws for the stator came out during operation and the flywheel caught it and destroyed it . it may need something else , but first i need to replace the stator and go from there . do you have any ideas or suggestions about finding a used stator ? i really cant afford a complete system . thanks for any help you could give .

Dustin you may get lucky to find a matching stator but the people with good stators, have flywheels wich makes it a complete unit.  If they have good units then the cost is going to be close to that of a new system (PVL) Keep looking, but I would start saving a little each week for that new ignition
