Title: rims and spokes
Post by: cardojr on January 21, 2003, 11:55:28 PM
I'm ready to order rims & spokes for my 68 berkie.Does anyone have the part #s to give to walridge cycle so I get the right stuff?
I will be ordering both front & rear rims & full spoke sets-also any thoughts on stainless spokes?
I could also use info on the front wheel offset for lacing as my wheel is currently held together by 6 loose spokes-I think 3" lateral play is a bit much even for the cornfield
finally, can i use the lacing pattern on my 72 berkie as a template?
thanks-rob card

Rob
The best thing to do is to get a catalog from Walridge and it will display the proper method of measuring the hubs to determine the rim drilling.  Some 68's had Borrani rims on them and the "funky" 4 bolt rear hub so the measurements will differ slightly from the 69's on up.  As far as spokes are concerned, send Mike an original inner and outer from both the front and rear wheels and he can have anything made for a fraction of the cost from the other suppliers.  Good Luck!
