What are the proper height of handlebars for
an MC 5 400? Where do I get some? The ones
on this bike feel way too low and are
typical of a modern style mx bike. It feels
like I am steering from my waist.
Thank you
Tim Bowers
Tim, how goes your 400 project???? I think you got the frame and tank from me last year, I have side panels for 76/77 (3 hole)...I have had good results with Kawasaki high bars (mx) or Renthal also makes a gonzo high bar #666...seems an odd number eh!
Tom...
First thanks for the bar info. It will be used. Secondly, I think I bought a 74
frame and tank from you. That one is
on hold until this 77 is done. The 77
is ready but it will not be a head turner
the way yoour guys bikes are. I have been
ready to go to the roof and jump on several occassions with this project but I just keep
ploddin along. I just want to ride it that is
all I ask of it.........whew!!!
can anyone give me a bar model to put on my 68 berkshire-i'd like the original look & height-also,for you woods guys, the moose mini bar(cheap)works great on my 72 berkshire (a renthal may work-check the bottom width so it doesn't hit your fork caps)-they're tall enough & pretty narrow---note: the clutch side gets tight, so i run my choke blade down tight to the brace
thanks-rob
There are perfect bars out there for the mc-5 with the swept back bar mounts, Renthal Mini High bars. They are just the right height and are not swept back as much as the vintage bars which helps with the swept back mounting position. About 32.5 inches wide, same as newer bikes mx bars.
