Any good matches in spray cans for 1974 125 Six Day tank and airbox. I need to paint my alloy airbox cover and do not want to spend $60 at the auto paint store.
desmond197,
I took my six days tank to a PPG store in town and had it scanned. They colormatch and mix aerosol cans up while you wait for about $15 a can. Match is excellent. I have the printout formula I could e-mail it to you if there is a PPG store in your area.
Randy
Randy would you mind posting the formulae here in this thread..... thks Brian T.

That would work out great there is aPPG dealer in my area. Post the formula. Thanks
Brian & desmond197,
The formula is a whole page of info that I don't understand. I can scan & e-mail it to you or I can copy it & US MAIL it. Either is OK with me. Send me address. Anyone else need it?

Just posted Randy's Six Day Green paint formula to the yahoo group files Penton Restoration page... I have not tried this formula but I am sure Randy would vouch for it ( Just hate for it to be Kawi green 8> ))

Ok, problem solved for the Green tanks, what about the Orange '76 tanks and the '75 Blue ones? Anyone have a formlua for those? I have one of each model to repaint.
Thanks,
Frank
Would someone please provide the link for the restoration page. I had to have my hard drive rebuild and lost all my links.
Also, does anyone have the Penton red Birkshire or the 250 red?
Thanks,
Brian

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/PentonRestorationandTechGroup/ As far as the other colors, most PPG stores should be able to scan if you have a sample that isn't faded.

will this paint hold up to the rigors of off road use? At some time in the future I will be pulling my bike completly down and repainting most everything, I think that I don't have to paint the tank but the silver on the frame is going to need some help and the forks too.
Thom Green,I own and ride a 76 250 MC5 MX which I bought new.
