Title: using regular main bearings

i am sure this subject has been discussed before, but i am a new member so can someone clue me in?  can regular style main bearings be used in the sachs engine. i think its the  6304 that fits. problems to look for.? shim to .005 end play?  are the cross cut primary gears a problem? thanks rick.

Have lots of fun getting those mains shimmed properly.  You had better make some sort of case puller (a la Husky) if you ever want to get the cases apart again.   For $80.00 use the right ones M-20

doug, thanks for the reply.  i see what you mean about a tight fit.  i have a junk motor to practice on, life is about experimentation, so the education begins.  rick
