Title: Pipe mounting
Post by: tomale on February 18, 2003, 07:53:01 PM
Anybody out there in Penton land knows if the pipe mounts are  all the same for 74'--77'and does that extend to 125-400's I am sure that the exaust flanges and the sizes of cones and stingers would be different but what about the welded mounts on the frames? I have got an idea brewing in my head.

Tom, No theframe breather frames have different pipe mounts. mc-5 pipes will fit on a frame breather with minoe pipe mods but frame breather pipes will not fit on mc-5's.

Hi mike,
which bikes were frame breathers... I am assuming that they are the 74 and 75 bikes
I use to hang around a shop that made pipes for all sorts of bikes and I picked up a few things along the way. I have been thinking about reproducing pipes for Pentons if I can.I have a few things to figure out yet.

I drew auto cad drawing with all the parts for my 77 gs6 pipe. I also did layouts for rolling all the cones. If you would like copies, let me know..F

John, I tried your e-mail with no luck. Do you have a drawing program that you can dimension with ? .DXF or .DWG are common extensions. I can dimension the drawings if not.. F

Frank the Welder.......I'd love to have a CAD drawing of the pipe. I use AutoCAD 2000i but can read an older version of AutoCAD if necessary. Can you email me the .dwg file?

Thanks

Frank,
Thanks. we had to view them in the DWG view, then zoom in and do a screen capture of each piece ( cone , straight section etc.). save each file to a folder. now its in a bmp format and we can use Photo Shop to play with it.
