Title: Old style clutch assembly
Post by: TomG on March 22, 2003, 01:12:42 PM
Does anyone know if is is possible to do a straight swap of the old style clutch actuator assembly with the new style? Is anything internally different? This is on a '76 250. I'm having to swap engines out and the replacement motor has the old style disengagement assembly.

Thanks

Tom
Use the push rods from the new style with the new style actuator and I would think it should work.

You have to have the actuator, the long single pushrod, the mushroom end for the pushrod, and the very small caged ball bearing set. With hthese it is a total swap out and you will have an easier clutch and an actuator that can be lubed with a much longer life.  I have a couple of these sets left if you are hunting one.  They are getting very scarce.
