Title: NOS pipe 250GS
Post by: Lew Mayer on April 02, 2003, 07:51:12 PM
Anyone know what the value of a NOS pipe for a 250 GS might be? I know a guy who has one and I might be able to persuade him to offer it to Poggers first. He says the wrapper says '78 on it. Does that year sound about right? He used to work at a Penton dealer.

My guess is that it is worth $100 on a bad day and $300 on a good one.  The $300 might be tough because there are not as many GS pipe buyers while if it was the MC5 pipe there would be more players therefore more $$$.

Larry,
What was the difference between the GS and the MC5 or 6? The owner of this pipe says it was off the motocrosser.

The GS pipe was basically silencer from where it came out on the right side to end of pipe and the MC pipe had silencer only for 10 or 12 inches at the end.

Larry,
Would you be able to use the GS pipe on an MC bike?

To the best of my knowledge that will work.  Same air box and manifold.  Not positive of hanger locations but I think that too was the same and easily fixed if not.
